Delivery Day, Family and Ways to Be.

Standard

This post today is nothing but thanks. Matter of fact a huge slobbery can I sit in your lap thank you.

Today was the day I delivered ALL of the donations that we received this year at Tuck’s 5th birthday. And I had a little -closer to no- help from Kinzie. But always a trooper she is along for any ride.

If you have kept up with the wacky wonderful world of raising a super hero. This year for Tuck’s birthday we decided to take donations for Baby Steps instead of gifts.

Good Lord. I have to say we have some pretty rad friends.

It took three trucks loads to gather everything and two trips across town to delivery it all. In the last month leading up to Tuck’s birthday party, I have traveled from each end of Oklahoma and back picking up gracious donations from our amazing friends.

You can not imagine what it might be like to be without the basic necessities for your baby.

The commitment the Baby Steps staff family makes to the parents literally lasts a lifetime.

I once heard a story. Well, actually there wasn’t much words spoken. From a mother who’s children were once Baby Steps babies. There were more tears than anything. But through her teary eyes I learned she had her degree, the skills to make herself a better life, and the support of the entire Baby Steps family to guide her and cheer her on when she felt she wanted to give up.

The last few weeks building up to this day, I think Tuck said it best.

-All dese fings are for my friends! My face feels happy when my friends are happy.

Way to be brother. Way to be.

I can not say it enough…

Words can literally not express our gratitude to our friends.

Much love,

Xoxo

  1. Such an inspiration! I get up every morning and the first thing I do is check to see what Super Tuck and his mama have been up to. You see, I am the mom of a kid with super powers too, who also happens to love trains and all things that go! My little dude’s name is Layne……and since finding your blog I find that when I say his name my thoughts often turn to you and your little guy! Your words seem to make everyday a little easier. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the inspiration you and Super Tuck provide us with each and every day! And I know it’s late but……..Happy Birthday Super Tuck…….all the way from Ontario Canada!!

    • Oh my word friend! You have left me speechless! I am so glad that I can bring a smile to you :) I often wonder if everyone wings it like I do most days. I am so thankful for you and thank you for the birthday wishes! I do read them to Tuck and his little face just lights up! Have a great weekend! Xoxo

  2. First off, that doggie of yours is just adorable. Love that little face! :)

Secondly, you and and Tuck and your friends should all be commended for your efforts to help the needy. I love those moments in life when you’re given the opportunity to do something, anything, for the less fortunate. It sounds like Tuck has definitely learned a valuable lesson here. Well done!
